Sadhaka is a feature documentary film about BKS Iyengar's practice, life and influence from award winning director Jake Clennell. Three years of filming has been completed; we now need the funds to finish the film. By contributing to the funding you will help us finish this important film, which is sure to touch the hearts, affect the lives and enhance the well-being of many people around the world for many years to come.
We can't do this without you. Filming, editing, and subtitling a feature length documentary in many languages is intricate work, time consuming and expensive. The Sadhaka team is small, but highly professional and dedicated to producing a high quality film meeting PBS/BBC standards. By donating you can join us and help to achieve this goal.
A documentary of this type — filmed over a period of 3 years, in locations throughout India — normally costs about $1,000,000 to make. Budgets for other documentaries — which are not shot abroad — typically allow for $3000/minute.
We have so far raised $244,000 towards our ultimate goal of $350,000. We expect to have high post-production and distribution costs, because of our intention to distribute subtitled versions in many languages through which we hope to generate a revenue stream to support BKS Iyengar's schools and the hospital in Bellur Village, India.
The following people, studios and foundations have contributed to help complete the film.
Thank you so much for your support.
